Warhammer 40k - Banshee VS Sister by iforher Warhammer 40k - Banshee VS Sister by iforher
"In the grim darkness of the 41st Millenniumthere is only war."

And pricey-miniatures.

I've always been a 40k fan. Spent many a Saturday afternoon lugging my Eldar/Blood Angel army up to my friends' house for a relaxing (and broken) game of 40k.

Also dabbled in the original Warhammer stuff, Epic and Necromunda, but none of my friends were interested. 40k only.

Over the years, I'd stopped collecting the models, and gradually moved away from the collecting/painting/gaming side of the 40k universe.

Loved the Dawn of War stuff, though.

Just recently, one random visit to a Games Workshop later...I end up with a box of Kill Team...and a bunch of Tyranids...and some Eldar...and next week I might even grab me some Chaos Space Marines...

*sigh*

Too bad, you were almost out of the miniatures.

Hmmmm... Busty holy imperial emperor's daughter or curvous slim red head xeno, both beautiful and deadly... What side should I choose...

Xeno for me. If she doesn't cut me in half for being a mon'keigh and daring asking her. And if the sororitas doesn't burn me alive first.

For the longest time, even after I'd stopped buying the miniatures, I'd still buy the latest White Dwarfs, and even the Codices JUST to read some of the stories, so I totally get you!

I even find myself making army lists for factions that I'll probably never collect.

I started watching "If the Emporer had a text to speech device" and then went on a wiki deep dive. Then I bought the last phoenix, a book made of two or three put together, just so I could read about Fulgrim´s quest to obtain more fabulous hair then the Emporer. =P (Razz)

Now I might buy the kill team box once I´m done with the ten ebooks, and the space wolves book I got. I think I´m starting to develop a problem.

The 8th edition rulebook has been confirmed, so it'll be interesting to see what Games Workshop does with their boxed stuff. Like, the rulebook enclosed in Kill Team will be obsolete.

You can still use the models though, but it's weird that the models included aren't equal in points value.

Speaking of problems, I was only supposed to "dip my toes" back into 40k. Now I have the following 200pt Kill Teams:

Space Marines
Tau
Tyranids
Necrons
Eldar
Chaos Space Marines
Adeptus Sororitas

Numerous paints, an awesome battle mat, made several foamboard scenery...

Flee! Save yo'self!

I heard about that and it's not actually managed to scare me off because it seems like everyone at GW as had a massive, collective stroke because the 8th edition core rules are going to be free. By core rules I assume that they are the rules with no fluff or artwork, which I'm completely fine with.

I have some old tyranid figures at home with my parents. But If I'm going to get back into 40k I'll probably go for a death watch kill team because I hate painting armies were everyone has the same paint scheme.

Thankfully I have one massive blockade stopping me from heading down this rabbit hole.

I don't have the time or money these days to invest in it. =P (Razz)
