FFXI - Sunbreeze 2011

With another Summer in Vana'diel (and in real life), comes another upcoming Sunbreeze Festival!

And to celebrate, I drew some of my favourite FFXI characters playing at the beach: the shape-shifting Areuhat [link] the spunky Princess Prishe [link] and the feisty Dancer Lilisette [link]



I gave Areuhat a Elvaan Top swimsuit, and gave Prishe and Lilisette the Magna Top swimsuit. I personally prefer the Elvaan Top (mainly because it's easier to draw ).

For the character designs, I decided to try something a little different this time, and tried to copy the style that was popular during the 80s, with huge eyes and small noses. I'm hugely influenced by Urushihara Satoshi and Sonoda Kenichi's style of art, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. And MAN, it's hard!

Areuhat doesn't walk around with her tail out, but I quite like the idea that she would!

For the sparkly ocean effect, I just photoshopped a blue stripe, using like 10+ effects.

Prishe is quite small, so anyone could just pick her up. And I figured that given a chance, Lilisette would try it!

Hmmm....just realized that all 3 girls are Elvaan (or even part Elvaan).



If your FFXI character wears a swimsuit, and then you call up your NPC during the Sunbreeze Festival period, your NPC will also be wearing a swimsuit.

It's a pity that you can't get Shiva or Garuda to wear a swimsuit.

Or even Titan.
